ADA HEALING ARTS
About Ada
My Story
Growing up “off the grid” in the remote mountains of northern California, I was immersed in the natural world since day one. My Buddhists parents adhered to a strict, organic diet and our general practitioner was a Chinese acupuncturist who could seemingly cure anything from advanced liver cancer to a runny nose. This community, saturated with bodyworkers and holistic therapists, nurtured my lifelong fascination with healing. As early as four years old, I enjoyed playing “massage therapist,” foreshadowing my journey in energetics and body work.
However, the idyllic surface of my childhood hid a more tumultuous reality: significant family struggles with mental health. As a sensitive and self-aware child, this prodded a question within me: How can I help my family find wellness and happiness?
As a teenager, I rebelled by renouncing alternative culture and sought refuge and stability in academia. My journey took me far away from my childhood home in the mountains, through a scholarship to study abroad in Germany and finally, to a prestigious liberal arts college in New York. I was successfully navigating mainstream society, yet, by the end of my mid-20s, this path left me burnt out and adrift in a "successful" albeit passionless life I hardly recognized.
In 2018 I walked away unscathed from what by all means should have been a fatal car accident. This near death experience that propelled me to go all in on creating a life that felt meaningful and authentic. I sold my possessions and left the USA to fully immerse myself in healing and transformation. Almost immediately I found Sacred Sexuality, Somatics and Shadow Work. I spent the next three years fully immersed in my own self-development; intimately integrated my unconscious shamefully charged motivations, healing old trauma and, most importantly, reconstructing my relationship to pleasure.
In retrospect this path of healing wasn’t merely a discovery, but also a remembering and coming home to myself. I can honestly say that I've built a life and relationship to myself that is full of love and purpose. From my lived experience, I created my own method, Transformational Growth Therapies (TGT). Since 2021 I’ve been working full-time as a holistic therapist, educator and a doula. Through somatics, I am able to share a practical approach to emotional well-being. Our bodies are our homes. And our ability to relate to them offers us the deepest form of intimacy and vitality. I have made it my life’s purpose to help others establish a safe, loving, and pleasure-filled home within themselves.
My Pillars
PLEASURE - TRAUMA - SOMATICS - SHADOW
It is our birthright to feel safe, alive and free. That’s why I have developed my own integrated approach to healing and transformational growth. My method focuses on foundational tools that lead to a more joyous, connected existence by processing old trauma, realigning the nervous system, integrating the shadow and ultimately coming into deeper communion with pleasure.
